When I first met JoAnn she was just discovering the  unique power of applying coaching strategies with her therapy clients. Following her instincts, JoAnn had unknowingly begun using coaching techniques when her clients communicated readiness to move forward with their lives, goals, and futures.  That unexpected awareness prompted JoAnn to engage in one of her super powers: lifelong learner.  She began researching this approach of "coaching" by taking courses, preparing for advanced certification, and discovering specialty areas such as Positive Psychology. Her enthusiasm and vast life experiences make her a perfect coach for those who want to be empowered as leaders, business owners, and travelers on their best life paths.

I am both a coach and psychotherapist.  I completed Accelerated Coach Training in 2020 through Life-forming Leadership Coaching.  I am currently working on becoming an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation. I am also a licensed clinical social worked in Maryland.  I have a master's degree in clinical social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore.  My business is called Empowerment Coaching with JoAnn Sheffield, LCSW-C, LCAC. My specialties include women's empowerment, communication, executive level, leadership, and business coaching.
